When Kenneth Greenman ’71 enrolled at California Western School of Law in the fall of 1968, little did he and subsequently his wife Patricia realize that this was the beginning of a long and enduring relationship with the law school.

Chris Maxwell ’75 knows a thing or two about building toward a future that’s not yet fully in view. When she enrolled at California Western in the early 1970s, she arrived on a campus where everything would soon be in chaotic transition and no one could quite see what the law school’s future would look like.

Allan and Yjordis Frostrom
Originally from the Midwest, Allan ’62 and Yjordis Frostrom met in Arizona and arrived in San Diego as newlyweds in 1960. Allan’s mother, Elsie Thompson, who had moved to San Diego 13 years earlier, suggested that Allan enroll at a small, unaccredited law school then located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Date Street. Allan remembers the vibrations and clamor of heavy excavation machines rattling the building and fraying everyone’s nerves as the roadbed was lowered for the I-5 adjacent to the building.
